One Billion Hearts, One Wish.....

Let me start with the title explanation - "One Billion Hearts, One Wish", It's all about winning a Cricket World Cup 2011.. Yes, every Indian had a dream to win it and finally dream comes true on 2nd April 2011, Saturday. It was played at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai between India and Sri Lanka and the tournament was won by India who defeated Sri Lanka by 6 wickets in the final. India became the first nation to win a World Cup final on home soil...
That was the historic day for all Indian..(I believe more than a billion...). The day which will be cherished for years to come. Every one was so delighted, scenes on every streets in India on that night was , unforgettable. People were on the street with the India flags, chanting with "India..India...India", "Bharat Mata ki Jai.." etc. There were some celebrations taken place in other parts of world, people had celebrated this historic win in their best way at abroad... That was the day I wish I would be in India to be a part of that extravaganza... But here we have celebrated with some sweets and somosas with friends...We didn't get the opportunity to go on streets with flags and all, as we used to have in India, though we enjoyed the victory.
I was most happy for Sachin, he deserves this WC. It has been more than 20 years of cricketing career and he was an integral part of 6 world cups.
But finally that was the day when Sachin's dream comes true.......and wait for the moment which he has been waiting for years comes to an end...and that's on his home ground in Mumbai..You can't get better than this !!...

I'm not sure how this can be explained but let you know that something I contributed to this win...not by watching matches or celebrations with samosa n sweets after the
win but something unusual. I didn't shave my beard for the entire duration of wc and had fast on the final match. :) :)....I know that sounds bit weird but yes that what I did ...or you can say that's may way to offer a prayer to god in favor to India win!

This is the month full of holidays, we had two long weekends...but unfortunately no trip was planned. Has passed first long week end by staying at home only...:(...But yes, had fun by watching IPL matches and some of Oscar winner movies...That's how I passed my first long week end...Yes, other thing I must mention...One of my best friend, ex-roomie has returned to UK..so now it seems that my good time started now..having fun by hanging out with him...sharing good old memories... :) :)...that's something to cheer !!

Rest is OK as of now...See you soon...Bye !!

The Mother of all Matches..!!

Wow…Fantastic….Yuppii…..We won……Well Done Team India...!!!
Yes..I wanted to start with these words to show my happiness towards India’s victory against Pakistan… What a day that was…
Yesterday 30th March, at Mohali two teams Ind-Pak were playing (battling, I would say.. ) in WC 2011 Semi-final match (The Mother of all matches..!!) and around 35,000 supporters, prime ministers of  both nations, film stars, VVIPs gathered to support their teams. Atmosphere at Mohali Stadium was electrifying. Whole nation was like dying to see this biggest battle and finally day has came. Many government offices, private companies have declared half or full day of holiday to watch the match. Many of my friends had taken leaves to enjoy the match with their dear n near ones. In fact few companies have arranged TV sets or Large Screens to show the match in office only, so no one can miss those most awaited battle. Roads were empty like it may have curfew imposed on the streets, everybody made some or other arrangement to watch the match without being miss a single ball, So all set to watch the match. That was the scene in India...
But here in UK, you wont get that kind of atmosphere. Even though here also we Indian people are very passionate about to watch the match, we are not so lucky to manage holiday or leave but however we ensure that we can see the match. And we managed to watch in office only, of course not on TV set but on Laptop via Internet. We had celebrated wickets, boundaries....though we controlled our joy and emotions due to be in office, but on fall of final wicket we lost our control and cheered our victory very loudly. So that was nice experience to watch that match in office....After coming from office I watched the victory celebration out there in India on India new channel..that was magnificent & astonishing....every corner of India was celebrating the victory like Diwali...Fire Crackers and Public rally on the roads with soar of "Bharat Mata ki Jay..", "India..India.."......That was unforgettable scenes out there in India...Another thing which I personally feel is expressing their joy on FB & Twitter...people went crazy..they were updating their status like mad...everybody feels thats their way to celebrate...share joy....No wonder if FB &Twitter servers may have got high CPU usage spike.. :) :)...So that all about the match..
Few things worth note down for this month, first and foremost Holi...we celebrated holi at our Leeds Hindu temple with few friends. We had fantastic time at there but really missing the Holi celebration in India... :(
Also one of the worst accident I have ever seen... I saw a dead man crushed by big lorry. Accident took place on the way to my office.  That day it was very windy and that area is one of the deadliest windy area of Leeds. unfortunately, due to heavy wind the lorry was flipped and passing by fellow had bad luck on that day and was killed. God Bless him...

Waiting to see WC in Team India's hand...Especially Sachin's...
Till then Bye....and best wishes to Team India...

2010 - The Year in Review

Day after day, month after month & Finally “2010- A Year of many First Times” is about to end…This year has passed with many challenges, rough patches & also some new things which I did for the first time. It’s time to review the whole year, time to check what went wrong & what went right, time to look forward and making new wishes for new year which brings new hopes & happiness..

Let’s start 2010 - The Year in Review,

Year started with my birth day away from home, thought it was fantastic one over here in UK, I missed my family & friends in India. I still remember my college days where my friends used to force me to stay there in Ahmedabad for birth day/Uttarayan but I never stayed there. I wish to be there with them but I could not.
In March I went to India & there I had good time, as always…During that vacation first time I did drive a car.   That was great experience.
In May, it was an election here in UK & First time ever I vote. I have not got chance to vote India which I wanted to do but fortunately I did get that chance here.
In June, I completed 4 years with Mastek & 2 years in UK..Then in next month, July was full of football action, enjoyed football wc. I still remember my prize - “Wooden Spoon” for the WC winner prediction contest, in which I did stand consistently last :)..
Few months later in September we had fantastic Ganesh Visarjan followed by movies & late night party..That was the best ever party !!
In October, I had very tough time…but fortunately it passed & back to normal life..Then in November, I had fantastic time at one of my friends place in Diwali. That Diwali was awesome of all Diwalis in UK..I enjoyed the most…
And then finally here comes December, a festive time…lot of fun..
We had 4 days of X’mas vacation & I celebrated this X’mas at one of my friend’s place. We played games, watched many movies, delicious dishes…all together those four days were full of fun, masti & mazza...
We feel it like we are in big-boss house & doing various activities..(of course by our choice, not by BB’s).. :):)…
31st early morning was fabulous..had conference call with few friends lives in various countries in the world, Aus,US,India…That was fantastic one…That conversation lasts for more than 3 hours. It was 4:00 am in the morning at here in UK & finally we ended that call… :)…
We enjoyed lot…That was the start of last day of 2010…Let’s see how remaining day goes…Excited to go to London today, for New Year Celebration… Ready for Party…

Won Bid !!

Today, I won my first ever bid in one of the item listed on e-bay...Though I'm a member of e-bay since November 2008 but I never tried to place a bid or purchase any item by myself. But today first time I tried to bid on one of the item and I won it...I know this item is not very much in demand and hardly 2-3 bidders were there. But what ever may be the case, I'm happy that I won that bid & that's the first time try :) :)...Cool...
That saved my few bucks if I would have purchased from market or some other place. Actually that item is not available in India & my uncle want that so I told him I will bring it from here & I did it ! :)..

Bye for now,

Happy Diwali & Prosperous New Year !!

Well....whole month was full of fun...outing..gathering...Diwali & New year started with new hopes etc. Visited many new places..First & foremost is Wembley, Harrow which I have been waiting to see since 2.5 years.
Let's start with Diwali N New Year Celebration, I celebrated it at one of my dear friend's place with his family...I was there over that festive  week end. Had fantastic dinner after arriving there.  Then we had some gossips, remembering old days etc..Next day we went to Wembley & Harrow, had fantastic lunch at one of good restaurant there in harrow, there we had some get together, met some old friends.
Then we headed for Neasden temple - a very good "BAPS - Shri Swaminarayan"
Temple. The most exciting thing was that I met one of my training days friend with his wife after around 4-5 year, So I was really excited to meet him & finally met him at temple. The other thing was, on that day we got a chance for Aarti at temple as well, very lucky me :)..First time ever I got a chance to see "Annakut", there were 1456 different dishes, beautifully placed.
Annakut
It was amazing scene there. Have a look of that fabulous decoration http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pke5VgElL9s&feature=player_embedded. New year started with new year wishes to every dear n near ones...Over all this time diwali was fantastic..i enjoyed a lot but missed india very little.
Few days later, again I planned for week end to visit one of my dear friend's place, we were total eight of us with family to have small post Diwali get together. We also had late night gossip. Next day we went for movie Golmaal 3, we enjoyed that. We arrived very early for the movie, apx about 2.5 hours, so we decided to have a coffee & then would go for bowling. At Cost Coffee bar we started talking about marriage, love n all that and eventually it turned in to a very long & hot discussion on "Arrange Marriage", actually it was started from my marriage thing, we were talking about how difficult it is to have an arrange marriage, the process n etc. Everyone was sharing their experience & giving some thoughts on this. It became so interesting & everybody were so engrossed into that discussion that no body had any idea about the time.  We could not believe it did last for more than 2 hr & now it's show time. Finally we had to stop our hot discussion & taking few points as an action on me we entered into cinema hall. As usual, we occupied last row and enjoyed a movie, of course with pop corn & coke.. :)
Finally at the end of month I have booked tickets to india...So now counting days for that...Also it's time to revisit all New Year Resolutions which were made last year, what has done & what has not....

Bye for now,
